Constraints are not obstacles. They're invitations.
When you have infinite options, you have infinite paralysis. When you have three options, you have a decision to make.
The paradox of choice
Give a designer unlimited colors and they'll spend hours choosing. Give them three colors and they'll make something beautiful in minutes.
The same applies to:
- Writing with word limits
- Building with budget constraints
- Creating within technical limitations
Embracing the box
"Think outside the box" is bad advice. The box is where interesting things happen. The walls of the box create pressure, and pressure creates diamonds.
The question isn't how to remove constraints. It's how to find the right ones.
